Another slow day in the bayou

With north winds on the Yucatan in Mexico over the last couple days, there has been little movement of migrants across the gulf and we have had very few birds captured. We are keeping busy with maintaining our nets, trimming up the trails, and conducting our weekly insect sampling.
One good capture for today so far has been our first of the season, and aptly named, Scarlet Tanager. This lovely ASY male is one of only two new birds thus far today.
Hoping that the trans-gulf migrants come to visit us soon!
